Apple’s AirTag isn’t marketed as an ebike anti-theft tracker, but it’s the dominant one for iPhone owners. Cheaper than dedicated GPS trackers ($20/unit in the 4-pack vs $50-100+ for cellular GPS), no subscription, no charging — just a CR2032 coin cell every 12 months.
The trick is hiding it well. AirTags emit an anti-stalking chirp after they’ve been separated from their owner for too long, which means a thief who hears the chirp can find and remove it. Hide it inside the seatpost, behind the battery compartment, under the saddle in a glued mount, or somewhere a thief won’t easily get to. For LSVs, golf carts, and side-by-sides, the hiding options are even better — there are deep cavities in every cargo bed and dash.
For Android users, this isn’t your product — Apple’s Find My network only works with iPhones. Tile Pro is the analog. For true GPS tracking with cellular (live location instead of crowd-sourced), look at Apollo MFB or Sherlock — but you’ll pay $50-100/year in cellular fees.
For most iPhone-owning ebike riders, the 4-pack ($79 on Amazon, $99 at Apple) is the easy default. Put one on every vehicle in your garage.
