Strengths
- New-for-2026 72V/35Ah battery and 10kW peak motor add meaningful power over prior Light Bee X model years.
- At about 130 lb the chassis is light enough to load into a pickup without a ramp or to muscle out of a rut.
- Largest global parts and tuning ecosystem of any electric dirt bike — controllers, batteries, and suspension upgrades are widely available.
- 4-piston hydraulic brakes and 200mm fork travel handle aggressive trail riding without immediate upgrades.
- Dual-sport conversion kits exist if the rider later wants a street-legal version with lights and signals.
Weaknesses
- Not street legal in most US states in stock form and lacks lights or turn signals from the factory.
- ~47-mile max range collapses in S mode and aggressive trail use, often closer to 20-25 real miles.
- No UL listing — sourcing matters since the platform has been widely cloned, including by low-quality copies.
- Ergonomics are sized closer to a youth or small-adult bike than a full-size moto, which can feel cramped for taller riders.

The Light Bee X is the de-facto standard electric dirt bike — not because it’s the fastest or the most refined, but because it’s been in the market long enough that the ecosystem around it (parts, tuning, suspension upgrades, dual-sport conversion kits) is more mature than any competitor’s.
The 2026 model bumps the battery to 72V / 35Ah (2,520Wh) and the motor peak to 10kW, which closes most of the gap to Talaria’s recent updates without changing the bike’s core character. It still weighs 130 lbs, still has the slightly cramped adult-on-a-mini-moto ergonomics, and still requires a dual-sport conversion kit for street legality in any state that takes ebike classification seriously.
If you want a proven platform with strong parts support and you’re not chasing maximum battery, the Light Bee X is the safer pick. If you want more range and a larger frame for the same money, the Talaria Sting R MX4 ($3,999) is the head-to-head competitor.
